It was informed yesterday that from the beginning of the autumn semester, the provincial Department of Education will carry out evaluation on the Standardized School construction in the scope of all the schools at the stage of compulsory education in Shaanxi province, and the schools passing the evaluation will be awarded the title of "Shaanxi Provincial standardized School". The activities will involve all the full-time secondary schools and primary schools at the stage of compulsory education (private schools inclusive).

The schools meeting the standards of "Regulation" will be awarded the title of "Shaanxi Provincial standardized School" by Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education, be publicized to the society and accept social supervision.

Provincial standardized schools should carry out dynamic management, and the valid duration is five years. Before the expiry, the schools should apply for re-evaluation, if qualified in the re-evaluation, they may retain the original title; the schools not meeting the requirements of re-evaluation should be issued a rectification notice, and the rectification duration is one year, if still not meeting the standards after expiry, their title of "provincial standardized school" will be cancelled.

The schools with the following 11 situations shall be banned to apply for provincial standardized school.

i. The schools having key classes or key classes in disguise.

ii. The schools opening courses not in accordance with state regulations and increasing and reducing curriculum and lessons.

iii. The schools arranging work and rest time no in accordance with relevant regulations, working overtime, or organizing students to have classes collectively during weekends, statutory holidays and vacation.

iv. The schools ordering teaching materials not in accordance with the teaching book catalog determined by the province; accepting teaching aid materials and audio-visual products not included in the teaching book catalog determined by the province.

v. The schools national and provincial enrollment regulations to recruit students out of line.

vi. The schools not implementing national policies and standards about fees and charging, and charging arbitrarily.

vii. The schools organizing students to participate in various exams, academic competitions and grade exams not approved by municipal education departments, or having jobbery and malpractice in any exam with very bad influence.

viii. The schools publishing the students' exam results, ranking students and teachers according to exam results in violation of regulations, or evaluating and rewarding or punishing teachers only according to exam results or entrance rate.

ix. The schools having serious illegal affairs or heavy security incidents in the past three years.

x. The schools making fraud in the evaluation.

xi. The schools violating other relevant regulations and resulting in serious consequences.
